I Love Saturdays

March 31, 2007

I love Saturdays.

Today I was having a lot of fun loitering around Centrepoint, trying to get birthday cakes for Michelle and Jesline. It was so much fun and joy to see the smile on their faces when we surprised them with the cake.
During service, we sang the song, By Your Wondrous Love for altar call. I was closing my eyes to worship Him, when at one point, my eyes accidentally opened and my body was facing the entire congregation. Before my eyes, I saw everybody raising their hands, and the song hit its climax. It doesn’t seem logical for all of us to come all the way to town every Saturday just to spend time with Him. But what I saw before my eyes, made me tear. I was in a place I really love and I really want to be in forever.
Your life could be fine now, but what if there is something infinitely better than just fine.
Life is full of gamble, but I wouldn’t want to gamble my eternity away. And I didn’t.
I had dinner with my family thereafter.
We went shopping around parkway. (You have no idea how much I treasure such family bonding time, because I have so little time to spend with them during the weekdays. We are almost like complete strangers during weekdays.)
I was having fun comparing which bikini was nicer together with Mommy. She chose one with a white bikini bottom, and I was like, “I won’t dare wear white bottoms!”
Then I had some one on one time with my brother. I never knew he could be such a ‘good boyfriend type of material to shop around’. Along the way, I met Ash and also Maas.
My brother and I went to MPH and selected three books. Dad just simply forked out to pay for it. I was quite shocked. For Dad to pay without hesitation and any conditions, but simply from love, really touched me. It reminded me of the good old days when he would pay for the entire series of Ronald Dahl for us.
Who needs worldly desires, who needs a boyfriend, who needs to seek security from popularity and acceptance, when all that matters is love from people who really truly care.
I love you Kenneth, for always being so sensitive.
I love you Leroy, for all the oldies you shared with me.
I love you Michelle and Jes for being upcoming birthday girls.
I love you Melissa for always tolerating me in school and in church.
I love you Shanrui for always loving me.
I love you Yvonne and Xinya for being such great classmates.
I love you Talia for never giving up on me.
I love you Xian Jue for being my first sheep.
I love you Edmund for trying so hard.
I love you Pickyee and Adel for being such great rugby friends and going home mates.
I love you Joshua for all the talks and for being such a great didi.
I love you Jacob for the cheerful greetings you always give me.
